The Tale of the Cosmic Eggs
Chapter 2: The Green Egg

Surreal Sirkus presents the second installment in The Tale of the Cosmic Eggs: The Green Egg Performed at BeBe Theatre in Asheville, NC on Winter Solstice, 2024

They came here a long, long time ago. Before there were any humans. When life and life forms were much simpler. Two beings.  A mother and a father. Who were also… radical gardeners.

They came with a vision known only to themselves. And they came with a motivation, which originated from something much greater than themselves.

But before they came here…they went there.
“Melam” is the best way to say what they knew it as, their world of Divine Radiance.

It was an unlikely place to start one of their gardens. It was an unlikely place to support any life at all. Its distant Great Blue Central Sun was a Stellar Class O Star, with a surface temperature high enough that most of its light was in the ultraviolet range.  Stars like this have short and violent lifespans, measured merely in the millions of years.

So “why?”, one may ask. “Why even bother?”

But this garden was never meant to last forever. In fact, they considered it one of the more ephemeral projects, by their reckoning. This great fluorescent and bioluminescent garden they made for its beauty.  It was made for the sake of Art.

And they stood together in the midst of it and took this opportunity to do what Beings do best, but somehow never seem to have enough time for. They took this moment…To BE.

Vibrationally fluent in ways most of us can only imagine, they plumbed the depths of their capacity for expression using colorful patterns of light.

They psychically sailed the sound waves and practiced techniques of creating actual objects with music.

Living in deep communion with the more subtle inhabitants of the garden, they listened with fascination to the tiny click-clicks of bone white roots growing deep in the soil , and the electric sounds of information telegraphed through the hyphae of the mycorrhizal networks

And most of all they loved each other intensely.

It was a time and place like no other, and maybe it was this pure euphoria that was the attractor. Maybe it was just the power of love. Or it could have been pure chance that brought these things together, but right in the middle of the Light Garden, the Black Egg landed, and a great cracking sound echoed through the chasms of space and time.

(Voices come out of the crack in the egg):

“Passion!...My spark of creativity and imagination…I leave behind fertility and joy…Reverence…Communion…Innovation, growth, playfulness…I hold onto my capacity to nurture.”

Resonating deeply with the energy of this last ‘seed’, the Beings made a choice there and then, that they would create the perfect garden home for these exotic and interesting new seeds.”

Narrator: Now that the location had been decided, there were other logistics to consider. Things grow better in relationships, which The Beings well understood.

And so they began the construction of a second egg and filled it with the seeds from their own realm that they believed would make the best companions.

Aware that the support of more bio-diversity was called for, they reached out with their powerful minds, putting out a call across the universe.”

They didn’t know who would hear the call, but they proceeded with the belief that support was out there…it just needed an invitation.

And then the Beings placed the eggs side by side with flowers all around them, as everyone knows that flowers are powerful guardians. And they left to see this new world for themselves, because there was much to prepare. They had weeds to uproot and soil to till. They had rain to arrange, and, most importantly, there was light to get right.
